True Motion U-TECH Vichara review - first run & first impressions. It looks like new running brands to the channel are like London buses, you wait ages for one to come along and then two turn up at once! True Motion are a relatively new brand to the running scene having been founded in 2018 and they use some pretty unique innovations in the construction of their shoes. In today’s video I take a...

INOV8 Trailfly full in-depth review. A couple of months ago I laced up the all new INOV8 TRAILFLY and took them out for their first run around the beautiful Tehidy woods here in Cornwall. BEST EVER? | Brooks Ghost 16 first run and first impressions review | Run4Adventure

Brooks Ghost 16 review - first run & first impressions. It has been a long time since I ran in a pair of Brooks Ghosts, probably back when it was the Ghost 10 or 11! It’s always been a very popular neutral daily trainer for a lot of runners and over the 10 years of working in running retail I sold 100’s if not 1,000’s of pairs. The Ghost has just gone through a big update with a brand new DNA L...
Another Great review, I ran in the 2's but durability of the upper was terrible. Looking at the upgraded 3's or also considering the Merrell Agility Peak 5. Which would rate as a better shoe? would be using for a 100 mile race.
I would personally go for the Merrell Agilty Peak 5. The new Xodus 3 feels a bit flat in the midsole 🤔
Well done 🙌
Thank you and thanks for watching 🙏
Super positive video loved it .. looking forward to running the 50k this year
Really glad you enjoyed the video! Well hopefully see you there 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Thanks for the review Loyd. I run in SG5 and they’ve been good for me. Might stick with them over the 6. Found the Mafate narrower than SG, you think this or was it just me ?
They definitely will not stay clean for very long. 😁
This time of year they stand a chance Rob! No chance in the winter though 😬
Have to remember shoe reviews are personal and one individual opinion. I’ve been happy wi the 6 for over 100km so far and I’m a wide footed Topo and Altra fan. Trail tanks for sure. All the things required from a trail shoe are present. They plough through harsh conditions as is their M/O. No negatives from here.
I totally agree Howard and I pretty much say that in every shoe review I film, running shoe choice is very personal! What works for me might not work for you and vice versa. I actually worked in running retail for 10 years and help 1,000’s of customers with their running shoe choice. So the fact that you’ve been happy with the SG6 is great, but like you said it doesn’t mean it’s going to be right for everyone 👍
Hows it compare with anacapa
Anacapa is a hiking shoe, the SG 6 is a running shoe so it’s very different 👍
This is one of the most exciting new entry to the market with a well thought of design at a decent price. Great value! I am not an ultra runner but I am considering them for my next road marathon training cycle. I hope you can review their S1 and upcoming R1R (with rubber outsole for trails)
Awesome race video Loyd - George Clooney 🤣🤣 i did wonder how you were going to manage that! Was great to run the last section with you - thanks for the company and thanks for not stitching us up in the editing! See you dreckly.
I see on the MTC JOGLE page you get a free pair of these shoes before the event, and If you do the entire event in them they give your a 2nd pair for free as well, I guess that's some confidence for you!
Rebel 4 is GOAT shoe 🔥
I don't knew this brand. Thanks, Loyd. Like to Run4adventure. Happy monday.
They are very new to the running scene Manuel. Happy Monday to you too and thanks for watching 👍😁
Thanks Loyd for a great review. Yes I think it’s important we have new brands entering the market, brings innovation and challenges other brands who can get a bit lazy in design. You and I are same shoe size and foot shape by the looks of it so I’m keen to get my hands on a pair to try out. I have a very long 9 days of mainly road running for a self-designed charity event so am on the look out for sometime to run in for that.
Similar to Seth demoors reaction. Idk if I want to buy.
Why are you wearing a hat indoors, backwards, and over your ears? You look old as dirt, dude. Try acting your age.
Such a great comment, just what this channel needs. Thanks so much for giving up your time for your words of encouragement and positivity, they’re really appreciated 🙏🙂
Seriously, a sponsor plug? On top of that, a piece of garbage that does absolutely nothing? Welp, time to smack that unsub button. It's been fun. Cya.
A sponsored plug! What are you talking about? Did you watch the video 🤷♂️ I bought these shoes myself so this is definitely not a sponsored video!
with the quality of this shoe.., I wonder if the reduce the offset to something down to 4-6 mm.., throw on a 3.5/4mm lug, and take over the ultra world trail and road ? I really want to try this shoe.., I have yet to see a bad review
According to Mount to Coast, in an email to me, they have a trail version in the works….
Are they big or small or true in sizing?😊
Did you watch the video? I talk all about sizing at the start of my run 🤷♂️ I found the Long Sky 2 true to size.
Interesting shoe Lloyd. Reviewing all these shoes maybe your one liner could be let’s get back to the shoedio instead of the studio 😆
Good to see more choice regarding brands on the market, just got to look at the share price and recent news about Nike to see the impact these brands are making on the big boys who have become a bit complacent
What are your socks? Love them !
I believe there from stance
They are Stance socks 👍
Loyd, very much enjoying the R1 as well as the trainer, the S1. There’s a definite need for an ultra road shoe and the dual lacing system is working well for me after about 75 miles. When I raced a 200-mile rail-to-trail race on crushed limestone and some tarmac, used the original Hoka Tecton X for the first 135 miles. At that point, my feet had swelled a full size and I could no longer fit in them. In scenarios like that, the M2C lacing in the forefoot could be a game changer.
These look like 90s tennis shoes, glad they don’t run like a pair. The guy who ran LEJOG in them certainly builds some credibility, I as well as Loyd.
England won!
Zig and Zag 😂 Ireland greatest export
Don’t need another pair of shoes but , watching this beats watching the football
Anything does 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And it’s good to support the channel
Thanks Alan 👍😂
You always need another pair of shoes :=)
Hello Lloyd, in the fall, I will be running a fasted 5x5: five road marathons in five days while fasting. Would you recommend the R1 for all five marathons (131 mi)? Or would you recommend rotating every other day with another shoe (Superblast) to allow the R1 midsole to relax before next use? Thank you, Lloyd.
They lost me at 8mm offset. Still watched the entire video though. I’m an Altra and Topo guy so 8mm is just too high for me. 0-5 is my range.
On your introduction: Thanks a lot, positivity is much appreciated. I had to pause running for ten long weeks due to injury and your content did help me though that time quite a bit.
Sorry to hear you’ve been injured but I’m glad the channel has been helpful! Here’s to lots of injury free miles in the future, thanks for watching 🙏😁 Loyd
2nd watch of this great video Loyd! Look forward to seeing you at the Serpent Trail nxt wkend - my first 100k 😁👊🏻
Cheers Paul, thanks for watching! That’s awesome, see you there 🏃♂️😁
did you compare with some asics trail shoes like venture 9 or other?
I haven’t run in the Venture 9 but I have run in the Trabuco and Fuji lite. I’d say the Summit Unkown feel a bit lighter and more responsive to run in 👍
@@Run4Adventure waw thanks for the response. How about the performance of the grip if you compare this summit unknown with some vibram outsole shoes? are the still comparable?
@@gallencool Nothing is as good as Vibram megagrip in my opinion but the outsole grip and traction is good on the Summit Unkown. Obviously asics trail shoes don’t come with Vibram rubber 👍
@@Run4Adventurethanks for the explanation. i use hierro v8 right now, and the sole is really great with vibram. because i want to buy one for my sister, and she is new in trail running, i just want to make sure if this summer unknown or asic outsole still have good grip.
I love my speedgoat 5 and I’m just about to replace them but unsure what to go for! I need 1 - 2 pairs for training and 50km and 100km races. Do I go for a speedgoat 6 and then something more cushioned?
If you love the SG5’s why don’t you just get another pair? You should be able to get a good deal now the 6 is out 👍😁
Do you think you will do the review of la Sportiva Prodigio Pro?
I’ve seen and held the shoe and it look awesome but it’s not going to be called the PRODIGIO PRO. As soon as they’re released I should have a pair to review 👍
9.36 Is there no magic in a wheat field?
Thank you Lloyd for your excellent videos. Do you think you will Have the possibility in a near future to test The Topo Athletic Mtn Racer 3 or the Topo Poursuit ? Big thanks from France
I’ll see what I can do 👍 Really glad you’re enjoying the channel and thanks for watching 😁
I dont know, I'm extrenely disappointed by it... no rebound, hill down I run blisters and lace bites, they hate wet surfaces a lot... I like the zegama much much more, even the caldera 6
I was very disappointed by the Ultrafly! So over HYPED! 😕
Thanks for the honest video Loyd, that's why I keep coming back to your channel!
No problem, thanks for watching 🙏
Always thought well of Hoka but recently bought Sauconys and they feel great
Glad you’re enjoying your Saucony’s! 👍
Love this! Super well done! 💪
Thanks very much, really glad you enjoyed the video 👍😁
I don't know which version to get ... V1 or V2 ... Loyd, you haven't said which one of the two you prefer?
I prefer the V2 with the dual light set up 👍 Hope this helps John and thanks for watching 🙏
@@Run4Adventure Thanks for getting back to me Loyd Really enjoy your content - Keep them coming!
@@JohnSmith-rx2uv No worries John, I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel and thanks for watching 🙏
I’m in between sizes … 185 cm tall , can’t decide between 125cm or 130cm fixed … longer better ?
I’m 184 tall and I use a 125cm pole and they seem to work well 👍
@@Run4Adventure appreciate you
I was disappointed getting a huge blister with my Xodus Ultra 2s at Endure24 this year
Sorry to hear that 😕 Sometimes you can avoid blisters when you’re running a long way, hope you still enjoyed the event! 😁
Very much an amateur and this was my first foray into trail racing. Lessons for next time to take better care of my feet. Thanks for all the fab content.
@@PabloPerez-nd7se We’re always learning Pablo! Glad you’re enjoying the channel and thanks for watching 🙏😁
The 36 are the last pegasus i like
I bought them for € 60 for triathlon sprint and Olympic .. do you think they are bad shoes? Weight 65kg 177cm
For a carbon plated performance shoe, they were pretty bad! Way to heavy, slippage in the heel and lacking cushioning 😕
Which do you like better UT27 or Fenix HM65r v2?
I think the HM65R-T v2 is the better torch. More powerful and a longer burn time 👍
Hi! I think you must have gotten the inov-8 trailfly 'speed' in wide (and not standard) since that's the only current option available? The inov-8 trailfly speed (wide) fits my feet great. I think it's because my heel is quite narrow while my forefoot is wider. My heel and midfoot fits securely while my toes can spread without sliding around. If they ever come out in a 'standard' version, I'm curious to hear your thoughts if you have the opportunity to give them another try :) I was super impressed by their boomerang insole as well!
I think you’re right, I got confused with my standard Trailfly’s! They would definitely fit better in the standard fit but I still think I’d struggle with the overall performance of the shoe. I definitely prefer the feel of my Trailfly’s, I’m glad you’re enjoying yours 😁
Having had the TrailFly G300 the new TrailFly ( non speed ) feels nice and light on my feet and could do with a bit more padding around the ankle, but really like them.
Isnt this THE BEST TRAIL SHOE EVER, that last 300km? 🤣 Come one guys, we should be much more demanding.
Did I say that the SG6 is the best trail shoe ever? I’m pretty sure I didn’t 🤔
@@Run4Adventure No no you did not, but so many Hokas fanatic-loyal-user reviews ake like that 😊
My first pair of Hokas were the Speedgoat 5s after having ran in S labs for years, I love the 5s, funny old game isnt it!
It sure is Paul! I personally think if you’ve never run in the SG before you’ll enjoy the 5’s. However is you had run in the SG3’s you might be disappointed 👍
@Run4Adventure I remember watching your video of the SG5 I think it was where you said that too! I haven't tried the 6 yet, girlfriend tried them on today, maybe I should've but we didn't have much time! She's just getting into running and trail running but struggling with what to go for, She's tried all sorts on now, even some brooks Catamount 3s today which she liked over most in runners need (exeter)
Just must say, I love my Nike Zegama Trail 2. I have done about 100 km so far. =) I love the feeling of the zoomx!
Glad you’re enjoying them and thanks for watching 🙏😁
